Our film certificate: "15"

We decided that the certificate for our film should be a '15'. Even though it is a horror, we do not plan for it to be as strong as the '18' requirements. Our films themes that we plan to include into our opening are not suitable for anyone under the age of 15 such as: strong language, violence and possibly drug taking or references to sex. Because of this we do not plan to make our film a lower certificate than '15'. Not all of the themes of a '15' will be incorporated into our opening scene, as it would give to much away and would crowd the opening scene. We decided not to make it an '18' because we wont be including strong blood and gore, sexual scenes or discriminatory language/behavior. We also want to maximise our audience and by making the certificate of the film a '15', it will mean that we gain as many viewers as possible.
