Certificate Research: "18"

18 (suitable for 18 years and over)

Films rated 18 are for adults. No-one under the age of 18 is allowed to see an 18 film at the cinema or buy an 18 rated video. 18 rated films are definitely and obviously not suitable for children. 18 certificate films are for adults and can contain strong themes in the film such as:
  • very strong violence
  • frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***')
  • strong portrayals of sexual activity
  • scenes of sexual violence
  • strong horror
  • strong blood and gore
  • real sex (in some circumstances)
  • discriminatory language and behaviour
