Paramount Studios was founded in 1912 and is one of the oldest film institutions but still one of the most successful. It is a division of the American media company 'Viacom'. They are known for a wide range of films over a range of genres, they are responsible for the leading action franchises such as 'Iron Man' and 'Thor', as well as family entertainment films such as 'Shrek'. As well as this, they have released numerous comedies and sci-fi franchises. Paramount are now the last movie studio still based in Hollywood.
